about

Another treasure has made it's way down from the Santa Cruz mountains from the labs of the very cosmic auditory scientist 'Timonkey'. His signature sound consisting of 'ethereal, good vibes' , wonky basslines with a little bit of wobble and the ever present influences of Trip- Hop throughout this release. The closing track 'Today' is the one that should appeal to the broadest audience as it is a cross-genre chillout-groove 'hit' in the making that will appeal as much to dub and breaks heads as it will to those who enjoy breaks or downtempo-house.

Response:

Re: Sunshine - Great! Reminds me of Ben Mono, on a slightly more "enlightened" vibe. I'd play this if I were still young and trendy enough to be DJing in clubs :)

Re: Aqua Legion - Nice! Liking this the most so far. Almost has a Luke Vibert sound to it but with added bass attention. Enjoying this very much. Balance of heavy and light, strong and delicate.

Kemek The Dope Computer: "Ooh, a nice EP that makes me wish it was summer. "Cloud City" is my favorite but it's all splendid. Can't wait for the full-length (and a few beach parties to hear it at)."

about

Timonkey Santa Cruz, California

Equally at home hanging from a tree branch or bouncing off concrete, Santa Cruz's Timonkey (Tim Donlou) fuses organic and synthetic elements together in order to bridge the worlds of nature and technology: "Branching patterns, mineral lattices, geological timescapes - the living earth is as much an influence on my music as King Tubby, Bernie Worrell, or Steve Reich ever were." ... more
